"for now the winter is past, the rain is over and gone.

the flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come..."

After a harsh winter, springtime was welcomed at the  Episcopal Carmel of Saint Teresa.   Vegetable gardens have been planted, and many beautiful flower beds are blooming.  This spring, community members  - nuns, oblates, and associates - gathered to celebrate additions to the Episcopal Carmel family.

On Friday, April 23, 2010, Episcopal Carmel of Saint Teresa rejoiced as The Reverend Barbara Smith was admitted as a Novice, and received the habit of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, taking the name of Sister Barbara of Jesus.

Sisters from Baltimore Carmel joined the celebration. Visitor Bishop Robert Ihloff presided.

On Friday, May 7, 2010, Mary (Mazie) Florance received that habit of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and was admitted as a Novice Oblate, taking the name of Mary of the Incarnation. Once again, the community rejoiced to welcome a new member.

The Community of Episcopal Carmel gathered for a Study Weekend in May, 2010.  The weekend included presentations on Saints of Carmel, Rogation Day (blessing of gardens), a visit to the Carmel of Port Tobacco, and the clothing of a Novice Oblate.
Sisters, Oblates and Associates visited the Carmel at Port Tobacco.

In June, members of the Community attended the 25th annual Carmelite Seminar at Saint Mary's College/Notre Dame University.

Sisters, Oblates, and Associates gather in the Cafeteria.
